Holiday recycling

Metro Public Works is accepting non-artificial Christmas trees for recycling at a drop-off location in Richland Park. The drop-off location is marked by a sign on the Charlotte Avenue side of the park west of the library building.

Trees must have been stripped of their decorations, including lights, tinsel and ornaments. There is no charge for this service, and it prevents a significant amount of waste from winding up in landfills each year. The trees are recycled into mulch used for landscaping.
