The Sylvan Park Neighborhood Association (SPNA) is the collective community voice for addressing neighborhood issues such as zoning and development, traffic calming, safety, and neighborhood beautification.

SPNA meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Cohn School (Senior Renaissance Center). Email spna@sylvanpark.org for details.

Public Works Hazardous Waste Collection May 31

Metro Public Works will host a hazardous waste collection and education day on Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations: Hillsboro High School, the Bellevue MTA Park & Ride and Dupont Hadley Middle School. The following items will be accepted:
  • Small batteries (A, AA, AAA, C, D, 9V, button)
  • Compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs) and fluorescent tubes
  • Cell phones
  • Mercury thermometers (in exchange for digital thermometers)
  • Over-the-counter and prescription medications
Car batteries, tires, paint and other hazardous waste not listed above will not be accepted. Those items can be deposited at the East Convenience Center at 943-A Richard G. Adams Drive. The Public Works Web site has more information about household hazardous waste.
