The Sylvan Park Neighborhood Association (SPNA) is the collective community voice for addressing neighborhood issues such as zoning and development, traffic calming, safety, and neighborhood beautification.

SPNA meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Cohn School (Senior Renaissance Center). Email spna@sylvanpark.org for details.

School Board Candidate Forum May 21

The Nashville Neighborhood Defense Fund will hold a forum and endorsement meeting for candidates for the 2008 Metro School Board elections on Wednesday, May 21. The forum will begin at 6 p.m. in the Education Building at Travellers Rest Plantation and Museum (636 Farrell Parkway).

There are contested races in Districts 1, 3, 7, and 9. District 5 Board Member Gracie Porter is unopposed. The elections will be held on August 7. The Metro School Board Forum will be open to the public and the news media. There will be a Q&A session with the opportunity for attendees to ask the candidates questions.
