Sylvan Park came together to celebrate National Night Out Against Crime, sponsored by the
National Association of Town Watch (NATW). National Night Out Against Crime is a unique crime/drug prevention effort that is designed to help raise awareness about crime, build relationships with law enforcement and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The event took place at Richland Park, complete with a bounce house, face painting and many of our local merchants. Porter Road Butcher served up some nice, small bread and bacon and ML
Rose provided slaw. Castrillo's Pizza on 35th gave away slices and Slow
and Low Bistro grilled our hot dogs and provided samples of their pork
and brisket in sandwiches.
Metro Police Commander Marlene Pardue and Sergeant Twana Chick of West Precinct were also on hand to talk with neighbors.
All in all, a great turnout Tuesday night for Sylvan Park.
