The Sylvan Park Neighborhood Association (SPNA) is the collective community voice for addressing neighborhood issues such as zoning and development, traffic calming, safety, and neighborhood beautification.

SPNA meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Cohn School (Senior Renaissance Center). Email spna@sylvanpark.org for details.

MNPD reports recent neighborhood crimes

The Metro Nashville Police Department is reporting the following criminal incidents during the past 30 days:
  • A street robbery on the 4900 block of Elkins Avenue on Feb. 25. The thief robbed the victim after stopping to ask directions.
  • A theft from a motor vehicle on the 100 block of 39th Avenue on Feb. 20.
  • A residential burglary on the 4000 block of Nevada Avenue on March 4. The thief entered the home through an unlocked back door and took jewelry and medications.
  • A theft from a motor vehicle on the 5200 block of Dakota Avenue on March 1. A purse was stolen.
  • A theft from a motor vehicle on the 4000 block of Utah Avenue on March 1. A GPS unit and cash were taken.
  • A residential burglary on the 4500 block of Wyoming Avenue on March 8.
  • Sylvan Park restaurant was robbed on March 11. A window was forced open, and money was taken. 
  • A residential burglary on the 5000 block of Elkins Avenue on March 17. A door was forced open, and electronics were taken.
  • Dose Coffee and Tea was robbed on March 15. The front door was forced open, and a safe, money and a computer chip were stolen.
  • A theft from a motor vehicle on the 4400 block of Nevada on March 13. Change was taken.
Please report criminal or suspicious activity to the police at (615) 862-8600. Reporting this activity helps the police department determine appropriate staffing and assignments for our neighborhood.
